Front Desk Receptionist

Job Purpose:

The Front Desk Receptionist is at the heart of our Front Office Team, dedicated to creating a seamless arrival and departure experience for our guests. Your main goal? To make every stay memorable by delivering exceptional service and support from check-in to check-out. Beyond that, our bigger purpose is to ensure each guest feels a warm welcome and a true introduction to the heart of Suriname. At Hotel Palacio, we want every guest to feel at home in our beautiful country.

Reports to:

Operations Manager

Job roles and responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests with ease, coordinating smooth check-ins and check-outs while sharing all the essentials they need for a great stay.
  • Handle and resolve guest concerns or special requests with a warm, can-do attitude. • Share insider tips on local attractions and services, helping guests experience the best of Suriname.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, housekeeping, and maintenance teams to ensure our property meets and exceeds guest expectations.
  • Lend a hand across departments when needed, supporting the team to make each guest’s stay unforgettable.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in guest service or hospitality with a passion for creating memorable stays.
  • Excellent communication skills and a warm, approachable personality.
  • Organized and solution-oriented, able to handle challenges with a smile.
  • Eager to learn and grow on the job, with training provided to help you excel.
  • Adaptable to changes, always ready to go with the flow in our dynamic hotel environment.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) with good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Paramaribo and Suriname (or an eagerness to learn) to help guests explore our beautiful country.
  • Team player spirit, ready to work together to create the best experiences for our guests.

Performance Evaluation Criteria:

  • Guest satisfaction ratings and feedback.
  • Efficiency in managing check-ins and check-outs, guest inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Collaboration with other team members to enhance guest experiences.
