Assistant Manager
Job Purpose:
The Assistant Manager is a key member of our leadership team, dedicated to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of Hotel Palacio. Your main goal? To support the Operations Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences, overseeing daily operations, and fostering a positive work environment. Beyond that, our bigger purpose is to make every guest feel a warm welcome and a true introduction to the heart of Suriname. Job roles and responsibilities:
- Oversee Daily Operations: Assist in managing all hotel departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest services.
- Team Leadership: Motivate and guide team members, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Guest Relations: Address and resolve guest inquiries and concerns promptly with a warm, can-do attitude.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of service quality, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
- Staff Training: Participate in onboarding and training new team members, fostering professional growth.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify and address operational challenges to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Financial Management: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to optimize hotel performance.
- Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with company policies and legal regulations.
- Community Engagement: Promote local attractions and experiences, helping guests explore the best of Suriname.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role in hospitality or a related field.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a warm, approachable personality.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Resourceful and solution-oriented, able to handle challenges gracefully.
- Adaptability: Flexible and able to thrive in a dynamic hotel environment.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking); additional languages are a plus.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with Paramaribo and Suriname, or eagerness to learn, to enhance guest experiences.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with hotel management software and MS Office Suite.
- Education: Degree or certification in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
